Applying Sunscreen
Apply your sunscreen 20 minutes before going outside.
You need to apply more than you think.
You need about seven teaspoons (35 mL) of sunscreen for one full body application for an average sized adult.
You should apply about one teaspoon of sunscreen to:
- your face, ears and neck
- each leg
- each arm
- the front of your body
- the back of your body
Children and sunscreen
Whether a child should apply their own sunscreen depends on their age and how responsible they are. It is best to supervise young children while they apply sunscreen.
Be careful about using sunscreen on babies under 1 year of age. Keep babies out of the sun when possible.
